Anglican Roots and the Flowering of Christianity in Western Pennsylvania
1758-2008 Episcopal Diocese Of Pittsburgh

I want you to share our joy in the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh as we enter the 250th year of Anglican witness in southwestern Pennsylvania, the Year of Our Lord 2008.
Since the very first day of English presence in the Pittsburgh region 250 years ago, Anglicans have lived, worshipped and worked here. We have been part of this place, not only coming together to praise God, but also making significant contributions to the life and needs of all of those who call southwestern Pennsylvania home.
During the next year, we will be remembering those past contributions and celebrating our continuing passion for worship, mission, healing and service. We are also making meaningful contributions to the city and region today through our work to refurbish the exterior and grounds of Trinity Cathedral, a downtown Pittsburgh landmark, and expand our ministry to the homeless of our region at Shepherd's Heart in Uptown.
It is only appropriate that we do so. God has greatly blessed us since that first Anglican service at the forks of the Ohio River on November 26, 1758.
Join us in giving thanks,
